How Dysport Works?

Dysport is a cosmetic injection that targets and smooths out wrinkles like frown lines, crow’s feet, and smile lines. It’s popular among people who have noticeable wrinkles and want to see a clear improvement.

Preparing for Dysport

To qualify for Dysport injections, you must be at least 18 years old. We cannot administer Dysport to pregnant or nursing individuals. Additionally, you should avoid receiving treatments within 30 days following any major dental procedures. To minimize bruising, it’s best to avoid blood thinners before your treatment.

Dysport may not be suitable for everyone. If you’ve recently had facial surgery, have particularly weak facial muscles, suffer from a neurological disorder that impacts your facial nerves and muscles, or have an active infection in the area you wish to treat, Dysport might not be recommended for you.

What Happens During Dysport Treatment

Dysport Post-Care Instructions

  • Movement: For the first two hours after your treatment, make sure to gently move the muscles in the treated areas to help the product settle properly.
  • Aftercare: Do not touch, massage, or apply pressure to the treated areas for at least 8 hours. This helps prevent the Dysport from spreading to unintended areas.
  • Clothing and Resting: Avoid wearing hats or lying down for several hours post-injection. Lying down too soon could cause the product to migrate.
  • Exercise: Hold off on any vigorous activities, including exercise and yoga, for at least 8 hours. You can resume other normal daily activities right after treatment.
  • Alcohol and Medications: Avoid alcohol for the first 24 hours to reduce the risk of bruising and swelling. Try to avoid taking aspirin, NSAIDs like Aleve, Motrin, Ibuprofen or high doses of Vitamin E for 2-3 days before and after your treatment to decrease bruising.
  • Pain Management: If you experience a headache, Tylenol is recommended. Avoid NSAIDs as they can increase bruising.
  • Immediate Side Effects: Any bumps or swelling should subside within an hour. If bruising occurs, it usually resolves within a week. Mild pain, swelling, itching, or redness at the injection site can occur; applying cold compresses or taking Tylenol can help.
  • Makeup: You may gently apply makeup after the treatment.
